Board Postings - Are they real?
I am concerned that jobs posted on job boards by recruiting firms are not really open and active positions, but rather positions they anticipate their client companies to activate in the future. Any thoughts?
Most job boards
have no way of determining if jobs posted by search firms
are valid/immediate needs. Third-party recruiters and employers
both will post anticipated needs from time to time for the
purpose of "staying ahead of the hiring curve".
Both entities, however, have limited resources available to
review the "flood" of incoming resumes and will
definitely lean toward posting immediate needs over "future"
needs for that reason. Budget constraints as well will incent
both employers and recruiters to place their "bets"
on those positions that will most quickly result in new hires.
HR departments at employers are measured on hiring success
and recruiting firms only get paid in the event of a placement.
The motivation therefore is to focus on immediate needs.I
do understand your concern and I would encourage you to carefully
review the job description on the job board -- the more detailed
the job description, the more likely of an immediate hiring
need. "Harvesting" type job orders tend to be very
generic, brief and of little substance. Make sure you
visit the Job Board listings on ConsultingCareerQuest.com
